A print brief starts with physical dimensions

A print brief might specify a size in centimetres, inches or feet. Figma works in pixels. Getting from one to the other could mean opening Illustrator or Photoshop, calculating the size and copying it back.

I built Unit to Pixels to keep that conversion inside Figma, where the design work was already happening.

Create Frames
The plugin panel in Figma with pixel density set to 300 PPI, print marks off, and a size of 21 by 29.7 cm, showing the result 2480 x 3508 px.

Convert one size or import a whole set

The designer chooses a unit, enters the dimensions and sets the DPI: the dots-per-inch value used for the conversion. The plugin calculates the matching frame dimensions in pixels.

Bulk import handles multiple sizes together, avoiding a separate conversion for each print format.

Sizes queued
Three rows in the plugin at 300 PPI: 21 by 29.7 cm giving 2480 x 3508 px, 18 by 24 in giving 5400 x 7200 px, and 3 by 2 ft giving 10800 x 7200 px.

A small tool people returned to

The recorded usage snapshot shows more than 6,200 plugin runs and about 25 weekly users in PostHog. These are historical usage figures; runs count plugin executions, not unique people.

The plugin was published in the Figma Community and used internationally.
